"Deputy U.S. Marshal, Fort Smith" - Single Note Card ID # 16004 by Linda Faber [$3.50 + free shipping]
Each U.S. Marshal/Civil War Collection high grade, thick art paper note card has a print of an original, historically accurate painting by Linda Faber. The back says, "U.S. Marshal: Fort Smith, AR Circa 1870's-1890's" - This U.S. Deputy Marshal prepares to depart from the Federal Court (Judge Issac C. Parker's court house) of the Western District of AR, located at the once military occupied Fort Smith. Armed with only his weapons and his wits, a deputy marshal enforced law and order in Indian Territory, bringing to justice some of the most famous criminals in U.S. history. He patrolled what would become modern day Oklahoma, which neared 74,000 square miles - on horseback. - Comes in archival sleeve - Don't miss the 'Variety Gift Box' listing!
